By accessing or using Tonnie you agree to these Terms. If you disagree with any part, please do not use the Service.
1. Who these Terms are between
These Terms are a contract between you (“you”, “user”) and Tonnie — Turn ON International Expertise, Lda., a Portuguese private limited company registered under NIPC [••••••••], with offices at [Rua ••], [Postal Code] Lisbon, Portugal (“Tonnie”, “we”, “us”).
2. The Service
Tonnie provides three products under a single platform:
- Tonnie Citizen — for individuals relocating internationally: readiness assessment (MESH), relocation planning, cultural preparation and an AI co-pilot.
- Tonnie Business — for companies hiring internationally: candidate vetting, pipeline management, cultural preparation, post-arrival tracking.
- Talent Services — a consultative, turn-key solution where Tonnie handles sourcing, vetting, relocation and integration for client companies.
We may add, change or remove features, expand or restrict corridors (supported country pairs), and adjust the platform over time to improve it.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.
- One account per person. Do not share logins.
- We may require identity verification for paid plans or high-risk actions (visa document upload, payment).
4. Plans and payment
Tonnie offers a free tier and paid tiers. Applicable pricing is shown at checkout and in your account settings.
- Free plan: available indefinitely. Feature set may change over time.
- Paid plans: billed monthly or annually. Charged automatically via your payment provider.
- Taxes: prices are shown excluding VAT unless noted. Applicable taxes are added at checkout based on your jurisdiction.
- Refunds: you may cancel a paid subscription at any time. You will continue to have access until the end of the billing period. We do not prorate partial months. Consumers in the EU retain the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal from digital services unless they have explicitly started use of the paid features within that window.
- Failure to pay: if payment fails, we may suspend access until it is resolved. Data is preserved for 90 days before account closure.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Tonnie to break the law or facilitate illegal immigration.
- Upload false, misleading or fraudulent documents (including fake qualifications or identity documents).
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract our MESH algorithm or platform data for competitive purposes.
- Interfere with the Service (denial-of-service, malware, abuse of the AI co-pilot).
- Harass, threaten or abuse other users (including hiring managers you are matched with).
- Use Tonnie to spam or solicit users outside the scope of the Service.
Violations may result in suspension, termination, refund refusal and referral to authorities where applicable.
6. Your content and intellectual property
You retain ownership of the content you upload (CVs, photos, videos, ready-made responses). By using the Service, you grant Tonnie a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, process and transmit such content strictly for the purpose of providing the Service.
For Tonnie Business users: candidates whose details are shared with you are subject to the same privacy rules as your own data. You must treat candidates’ information with the confidentiality expected of a professional recruiter.
7. Tonnie’s intellectual property
The Tonnie name, logo, MESH framework, IQulture scoring model, website design, code, copy and training materials are protected by copyright, trademark and trade secret law. You may not copy, modify or redistribute any part of the Service without our written permission.
8. Third-party services
Tonnie integrates with third-party services (payment processors, SSO providers, AI model providers, analytics). Your use of those services is governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for their availability or conduct, but we select them carefully.
9. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
Tonnie provides readiness scoring, planning guidance and explanations generated by AI. These are decision-support tools — they are not a substitute for legal, tax or immigration advice. For any binding decision (visa application, contract, tax return), you should consult a qualified professional.
To the fullest extent permitted by Portuguese and EU law, Tonnie’s liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or the use of the Service is limited to the greater of the following amounts: (a) the amount you paid to Tonnie in the 12 months prior to the claim, or (b) EUR 100. We are not liable for indirect, consequential or punitive damages (including loss of profits or loss of business opportunities).
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for intent, gross negligence, personal injury, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
10. Termination
You can close your account at any time via the settings or by emailing support@tonnie.ai. We may suspend or terminate your account for material breach of these Terms, giving reasonable notice where appropriate.
Following termination, your data will be processed as described in the Privacy Policy. The sections relating to intellectual property, liability, applicable law and any outstanding payment obligations shall survive termination.
11. Changes to the Terms
We may amend these Terms to reflect product changes, legal requirements or operational improvements. Material changes are notified at least 30 days in advance by email and in the app. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by Portuguese law and, where applicable, by European Union law. Consumers may also rely on the legal protections provided by the law of their country of habitual residence.
We aim to resolve complaints informally. If this fails, disputes will be referred to the courts in Lisbon, Portugal, unless mandatory consumer protections entitle you to bring proceedings in your own jurisdiction. Consumers may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
